Afsana Mimi ventures into OTT with ‘Nikhoj’

Celebrated actress-director Afsana Mimi is set for her OTT debut with the Reehan Rahman directorial "Nikhoj", a Chorki original series. The production will stream worldwide from March 17.
We caught up with the actress to know more about her experience on her first OTT project and her future plans.
How was your experience with 'Nikhoj'?
This is my first web project and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I do not want to reveal the character I play in the production or the story yet, as I want the audience to discover it when the series releases.
I have followed each direction given by Reehan Rahman. He is young but has potential and works like a professional. Overall, the project is one to look out for.
How was your experience of working with Chorki?
I find Chorki to be quite promising. They are experimenting with new genres and offer good content for their viewers. They focus on realistic scripts, which the audience can relate to.
The OTT platforms are doing really well and I applaud their effort. I also appreciate Redoan Rony for "Nikhoj", and the other productions that he has lined up for us.

Your fans have always been loyal to you but they have been missing you on the screen. What do you have for them in the upcoming days?
I used to be very focused on acting, and also had invested a lot of hard work into my directorial ventures. I have shot for Giasuddin Selim's "Paap Punno", and we are waiting for its release. I have also worked with Noor Imran Mithu recently for his production "Patalghor". The film is currently in works.
I have decided to shift my focus back on acting and I promise I will keep coming back with more for them to relish on.
The teaser of 'Nikhoj' unveils that the film revolves around an individual named Farukh Ahmed, who has gone missing. Is this film solely a mystery?
I do not wish to reveal much at this point. However, there is no denying that "Nikhoj" is realistic. People would enjoy it as it has the essence of our current lifestyle, social structure, and incidents that we or people around us experience.
Are you looking forward to direction anytime soon?
Not at the moment. Right now, I only wish to focus on acting. Returning to direction will take a while as I am currently employed in Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy and it is difficult to balance all at once.
