People from all walks of life have paid tributes to eminent recital artiste Hasan Arif at Central Shaheed Minar today.

The body of the general secretary of Sammilita Sangskritik Jote, was taken to the Shaheed Minar around 11:00am.

Later, his body was taken to Dhaka University central mosque where his namaz-e-janaza was held after Zohr prayers.

Hasan Arif passed away around 1:50pm yesterday at the capital's Bangladesh Specialised Hospital at the age of 57.

Prior to his passing, Arif donated his body to science, and it will be handed over to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, Ghulam Kuddus, president of Sommilito Sangskritik Jote, said earlier.
