Celebrating the golden jubilee of our independence and the legacy of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, his patriotic conscience, approach to humanity, and his principles, Shurangon Foundation has released the medley "Kothar Kusume Gatha" on their official Facebook page and YouTube channel, recently.

The compilation features parts of 8 songs crafted by Kazi Nazrul Islam. The songs are "Ganga Sindhu Narmada", "Keu Bhole Na Keu Bhole", "Amay Nohe Go", "Rum Jhum Jhum Jhum Nupur Bole", "Nadir Nam Soi Anjana", "Tora Dekhe Ja", "Amina Mayer Kole", "Bolre Joba Bol", and "Mora Eki Brinte Duti Kusum Hindu Musalman".

The medley is sung by Kalpona Anam, Dalia Nausheen, and Nasima Shaheen Fancy. "This is the first time that I have performed in a medley, and the music arrangement is amazing," shares Kalpona Anam. "I am happy we were able to preserve Nazrul's essence and diversity, while trying something that's trendy."

The song was released in an event recently which began with National Professor Dr Rafiqul Islam's welcome address. The organisers then presented their uptake on ways to keep the legacy of the National Poet and his songs active among the upcoming generations.
