Pakistani artistes Mustafa Zahid and Aima Baig to perform in Dhaka today

The presence of Pakistani artistes in Bangladesh has seen a notable rise since last year, with performances becoming more frequent on Dhaka's stages. Today, two popular Pakistani singers—Mustafa Zahid and Aima Baig—are scheduled to perform at separate venues in the capital.
Mustafa Zahid at the 'Melody Unleashed' concert
Initially slated for February, the "Melody Unleashed" concert featuring Mustafa Zahid was postponed due to security concerns. After several date changes, the event is finally set to take place today. The Pakistani singer arrived in Dhaka yesterday afternoon.
The concert will begin at 4pm at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Exhibition Centre.
Zahid began his music career as the vocalist of the band Roxen. He rose to fame in India in 2007 through playback hits such as "Tera Mera Rishta" and "To Phir Aao" in the Bollywood film "Awarapan".
Since then, he has lent his voice to numerous Bollywood productions including "Runway", "Blood Money", "Murder 3", "Aashiqui 2", and "Heropanti". Zahid also enjoys a strong fan base in Bangladesh.
Joining him on stage will be local artistes AK Rahul, band Level Five, and Encore.
Tickets were sold in three categories—General (Tk 1,999), Melody Zone (Tk 3,499), and Premium (Tk 10,000).
Gates will open at 1pm. The event has been organised by Melody and Mind Communication.
Aima Baig to perform at 'Rule the World' concert
Yamaha Music Bangladesh, under the banner of One True Sound, has been regularly organising concerts featuring local artistes. For the first time, Pakistani singer Aima Baig will be participating in one such event. Titled "Rule the World", this marks the singer's debut concert in Bangladesh.
Initially planned as a large-scale event at the Sena Prangon, the concert venue was later changed.
According to the organisers, it will now be held today at a convention hall in Dhaka and is open exclusively to invited guests.
Aima began her playback journey in 2016 with the film "Lahore Se Aagey". She gained popularity with songs from films such as "Kalabaaz Dil", "Eh Dil", and "Befikreyaan". Aima has also performed in Coke Studio Pakistan. She sang "Agay Dekh" alongside Atif Aslam for the seventh season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), and more recently collaborated with Ali Zafar on the anthem "Khul Ke Khel".
