A musical puja with Shithi Saha

As Durga Puja arrives, it brings with it the excitement and preparations for festivities. Shithi Saha has already gifted a puja special song to her fans.
The track "Bolo Bolo Dugga Maa" is her first collaboration with the popular label Saregama (HMV) Bengali, and renowned singer Usha Uthup. It has been composed by Suvajit Ray and penned by Rajib Dutta.

"I can't express how happy and honoured I am about working on this collaboration," shares Shithi, barely containing her excitement. "This is a perfect Durga Puja song, I hope it will intensify the joys of the festival."
The singer also shared that she has a special bond with Usha Uthup, and that the eminent singer Usha had gifted her the sarees that she can be seen wearing in the music video. "Ushadi is my godmother, she loves me like her own child."

"Bolo Bolo Dugga Maa" features Tollywood actor Abir Chatterjee, along with Shithi and Usha. Abir lip synced Ishan Mitra's voice in the song. The music video has been directed by Pathikrit Basu.
"Abir is one of my most favourite actors. Performing with him on screen, that too when I am not a professional dancer, was really challenging," says Shithi. "I was really nervous, but we managed to do everything perfectly."

Sharing her memories of Durga Puja, Shithi reminisces her childhood. "We have been celebrating the occasion in our hometown (Sirajganj) since childhood," she shares. "This time was no different. We went to Sirajganj on Shoptomi, and plan to stay here until Bijoya. Every year, we arrange everything in a grand scale, and a lot of people come to visit our place." Shithi's family gathers fund to help poor people around their area. "We arrange a dhupchi dance contest, where we have lot of fun and announce winners, who get reward."
Shithi shared that to grace this year's occasion she had done shopping from Kolkata, where she bought Banarsi and Kanjivaram sarees. Relating to this, she shared some childhood memories, "I was the most pampered child in the family. My shopping for the occasion began a couple of months ago. I loved dressing up and flaunting my new attires. Once, I wore all the dresses I had from the day of Mahalaya. However, when I discovered that I had nothing left to wear on Bijoya, I started crying and my Baba bought a new dress for me."

Sharing these memories, Shithi said that cooking is one of her hobbies, and during puja, she loves making naru and other delicious dishes. "We used to eat the offerings made for bhog, which was not allowed for us to even touch before it goes to thakur, one time, we were caught eating the bhog, and our thakuma, got so angry that she recooked the offerings," I surely cherish those days and miss all the mischiefs.

"My most favourite days of Durga Puja are Ashtami (8th day) and Dashami (10th day),"
The singer is waiting for her next collaboration with the eminent Pakistani singer Shafqat Amanat Ali to be released. Also, she was infected with Covid-19 a while ago, thus she could not work on some puja projects. Recently her playback in the film "Ridita" has been released. The track titled, "Shudhu Ekbar Chhobo" features Puja Chery and AMB Sumon in the video.
