Students have started work on the Dove of Peace motif meant for the Mangal Shobhajatra, now renamed Anondo Shobhajatra, after it was partially burnt early today.

Dr Md Azharul Islam Sheikh, member secretary of the central coordination committee for the Nababarsha 1432 Celebration, said that students have already begun work to rebuild the Dove of Peace motif, which was partially burnt.

However, the motif depicting a "monstrous fascist figure" was completely destroyed, making it nearly impossible to reconstruct it in a single day, Azharul Islam told The Daily Star.

He said discussions are still ongoing regarding its reconstruction.
