A truck driver was killed this afternoon after his truck collided head-on with a bus at Fultala area on Khulna-Jashore highway.

The deceased Saleh Hossain (37) was a resident of Chaulia village under Jashore Sadar upazila.

The accident with the Jashore bound "Gorai Paribahan" bus left Saleh critically injured, Highway Police said quoting eyewitnesses.

Police later rescued him and took him to Fultala Health Complex where he died, reports our Khulna correspondent.

The bus and the truck were seized but the bus driver escaped, said Md Shahabuddin Chowdhury, officer-in-charge of Nawapara Highway Police Station.

The truck driver's body was sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for an autopsy, said the OC.
