National Human Rights Commission today urged the government to take steps after proper investigation into the incidents of "forced disappearance" and "gunfight".

NHRC Chairman Kazi Reazul Hoque came up with the call at a press briefing this afternoon, two days ahead of the International Human Rights Day.

"Whenever the commission receives allegation of "gunfight", it informs to the government about the incident," he said.

On recent atrocities in Gobindaganj of Gaibandha and Nasirnagar of Brahmanbaria, the NHRC chief alleged that police and local administration did not play their due roles to avert the incidents.
