A member of a reformist faction of Parbatya Chattogram Jana Samhati Samity, PCJSS-MN Larma, was shot dead in Rowangchhari upazila of Bandarban this evening.

The deceased was identified as Chao Prue Marma, aged around 50, who was a member of Bandarban unit of the PCJSS faction, said Monir Hossain, inspector (investigation) of Rowangchhari Police Station.

Some unidentified criminals shot Chao at Natun Para area around 8:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot, the inspector said.

Uba Mong Marma, secretary of the faction, alleged that an armed group of Parbatya Chattagram Jana Samhati Samity was behind this attack.

Police have recovered the body and will send it for autopsy to Bandarban Sadar Hospital, Inspector Monir Hossain added.
