The government has decided to appoint Md Nazmul Quaunine as the next High Commissioner of Bangladesh to the United Kingdom.

He is currently serving as the Ambassador of Bangladesh in Indonesia, reads a press release of Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued today.

Besides being the Ambassador of Bangladesh in Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), he also served in Bangladesh Embassy in Washington DC, Bangladesh Permanent Mission to UN in Geneva and Bangladesh High Commissions in Islamabad and London in various capacities.

He belongs to the 1985 batch of BCS (Foreign Affairs) Cadre. Ambassador Quaunine obtained an MBBS from Dhaka Medical College. He completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Diplomacy and International Relations from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies (GIIS), Geneva. He is married and blessed with a son and a daughter.
