A 'mentally disturb' man allegedly stabbed two people to death and injured three others in Narsingdi Sadar upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased are Farhad Mia, 50, and Ali Akbar, 56. Both residents of remote Sagariapara village.

Officer in Charge of Narsingdi Sadar Model Police Station Biplob Kumar Dutta said local people caught alleged killer Younus Ali, 38, who had been suffering from mental disorder for long, and handed him to police after a good beating

Locals said following an altercation, Younus took a knife and chased his mother here and there around 9:00am.

When locals came forward to resist him Younus indiscriminately stabbed Al Amin, Farhad, Akbar, Sentu Mia and another unidentified man.

The injured were rushed to Narsingdi Sadar Hospital, where doctors declared Farhad and Akbar dead.
