BNP leader Dilder Hossain Selim dies

BNP's central vice-organising secretary and former parliamentarian of Sylhet-4 constituency Dilder Hossain Selim died at a private hospital in Sylhet city yesterday night.
He was 71.
He breathed his last at 9:45pm at Mount Adora Hospital, said Nasim Hossain, Sylhet city unit president of BNP.
Dilder Hossain Selim was suffering from paralysis and several other diseases and recently returned from the US after treatment, he said.
"On Tuesday night, his physical condition deteriorated and he was admitted to hospital, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment," Nasim said.
Selim, a resident of Sylhet city's Lamabazar area is survived by his wife, two daughters and a son.
The BNP leader was parliamentarian for Sylhet-4 (Gowainghat, Companiganj and Jaintiapur) during the BNP-led four-party coalition government of 2001-2007. He was also the BNP-nominated candidate for the constituency in the 2008 and 2018 elections.
