Members of Detective Branch (DB) of police arrested Gopal Chandra Sutrodhar, one of the district's top arms peddler, from Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj this morning.

Acting on a tip off, a team of Sirajganj DB police raided Kandapara primary school area in Char-Bhobanipur around 6:30am and arrested Gopal Chandra (34) and also seized 8 pipe guns from his possession, said Md Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Sirajganj DB police. 

The alleged criminal was waiting there with a bag, keeping inside eight pipe guns, for his client, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting the DB official.

Gopal, a listed arms peddler of the district, was arrested with fire arms on October last year but he recently released from jail on bail and started arms peddling again, DB OC Mizanur said.

The arrestee was sent to Sirajganj judicial magistrate court with 10-day remand prayer," he added.
