At least five people were killed and 20 injured in a head-on collision between two buses in Sujanagar upazila of Pabna this morning.

The accident took place around 10:00am in Chinakhara area on Dhaka-Pabna highway, our Pabna correspondent reports quoting Obaidul Haque, officer-in-charge of Sujanagar Police Station.

The identities of the victims could not be ascertained immediately.

A Dhaka-bound bus of ‘Shyamali Paribahan’ collided head-on with an oncoming bus of ‘Saddam Paribahan’, leaving five passengers dead on the spot, the OC said.

The injured were sent to a local hospital, he said.
