‘Rented the flat as online businessman’

Concealing their identities, the militants rented the ground floor of the three-storey Surja Villa on Mashjid Road in Dakkhin Khan’s Ashkona area five months ago.

The owner of the house, Jamal Uddin, is an expatriate currently living in Kuwait, his daughter Jonaki told The Daily Star.

A man named Imtiaz Ahmed rented the flat five months ago saying he is an online businessman, Jonaki said.

Imtiaz along with his wife, child and younger sister used to live there since then, she said.

“I didn’t see Imtiaz and his family much often,” the daughter said.

Their tenant information forms were already submitted to the local police, she said.
