Parveen Mahmud, FCA, has become the new member of the trustee board of Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB).

Mahmud, chairman of MIDAS Financing Limited, was elected unanimously by TIB trustees during its 95th meeting on March 20. Her post has been effective from yesterday's 96th board meeting, says a press release.

Alongside her role at Micro Industries Development Assistance and Services (MIDAS), Parveen Mahmud is also a managing director of Grameen Telecom Trust, says the TIB release. She is also chairperson of Shasha Denims and board member of BRAC International and BRAC Finance and Audit Committee.

A chartered accountant by profession, Parveen Mahmud served as the first female president of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) in 2011.
