Write books in easy, lucid language

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid yesterday urged educationists to write more textbooks for tertiary level in an easy, simple and lucid language.

He also requested them to translate textbooks written in foreign languages into Bangla for the greater interest of the country's students at tertiary level, said a press release of UGC.

The minister made the call at a reception ceremony organised by University Grants Commission (UGC) at its auditorium in the capital.

The UGC accorded reception to 71 authors of different books published by it, added the press release.

UGC Chairman Professor Abdul Mannan assured the authors of extending necessary financial support and cooperation for writing books in future.

Dr Golam Rahman, chief information commissioner, Prof Nazrul Islam, former chairman of UGC, Dr Mohammed Farashuddin, chairperson of East West University, and vice-chancellors and pro vice-chancellors of different universities, among others, were present at the event.
