Two selected from Barisal region

Two women won the Barisal regional round of Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef-2016 held at Barisal Club yesterday.
Rupchanda, the flagship brand of Bangladesh Edible Oil Ltd, and The Daily Star jointly organised the competition to seek out the country's extraordinary culinary talents.
Ten participants were preliminary selected from among 36 competitors through a written test. Later, Sonia Haque and Moriom Akhter of Barisal, who won a 30-minute cooking test, were selected to compete with other regional round winners in Dhaka.
The champion will receive a cash prize of Tk 10 lakh while the first and second runners-up will win Tk 5 lakh and Tk 2 lakh respectively.
Armin Sultana Jui and Nasrin Hossain, first and second runners up of Rupchanda-The Daily Star Super Chef-2014 competition respectively, judged the competition. Jahid Mahamud, script writer, and Faisal Mahmud, marketing manager of Bangladesh Edible Oil Ltd, attended the programme.
Khulna regional round will be held tomorrow.
