Dhaka University Professor Kazi Shahidullah has been appointed as the chairman of University Grants Commission (UGC).

Shahidullah, a supernumerary professor of DU History department, was former vice chancellor of National University.

He will serve as UGC chairman for the next four years, according to a press release of Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education.
