Veteran politician ABM Taleb Ali, who was elected parliamentarian in the 1970 East Pakistan Provincial Assembly and twice in the Bangladesh parliament in 1973 and 1979, passed away at his Feni residence yesterday morning. He was 93. 

Taleb Ali, a Liberation War organiser and former labour affairs secretary of the AL, left behind two sons, three daughters and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

His body was taken to village home in Krishtopur of Sonagazi upazila after a namaz-e-janaza at Feni’s Mizan Maidan yesterday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in London, expressed deep sorrow at the death of Taleb Ali. In a condolence message, the PM said the nation has lost an efficient organiser and dedicated politician.
