Essay contest on Abul Mansur Ahmad

Abul Mansur Ahmad Smriti Parishad is launching the second edition of an essay contest in honour of the renowned politician, journalist and litterateur, said a press release.
Three separate competitions will be held on the topics: Depiction of religious bigotry and social classes in Ahmad’s literary work; role of journalism and modernism, and the creation of a progressive mindset in the context of Ahmad’s journalism career; and Ahmad’s thoughts on the state and today’s Bangladesh.
The best submissions will be awarded Tk 10,000, while the second prize is Tk 5,000. The third prize is a set of books by Abul Mansur Ahmad.
Anyone between the ages of 20-35 can participate by sending an essay in Bangla of maximum 2,500 words, based on original research, within August 17.
A jury of eminent writers will select the winners.
Prizes will be awarded in September, marking the birth anniversary of Ahmad. For online submission, send a Microsoft Word file using the font SutonnyMJ to [email protected].
