Enhancing professional skills of female police members stressed

High-ranking police officials at an orientation meeting-workshop stressed on enhancing professional skills of female police members to meet field-level challenges.

They put special importance on imparting training on information and communication technology (ICT) for women police members, increasing awareness in using social media and maintaining order for professional excellence at home and UN missions abroad.

They expressed this view at Rangpur regional orientation meeting-workshop of Bangladesh Police Women’s Network (BPWN) at Police Lines School and College auditorium in the city on Tuesday, said a press release.

Women members of Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP), Rangpur, Kurigram, Lalmonirhat, Nilphamari and Dinajpur District Police and Range Reserve Force (RRF) of Rangpur participated in the day-long event.

Deputy Inspector General (DIG) for Rangpur Range Police Devdas Bhattacharya attended the event as the chief guest.

Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud and Superintendent of Police, Rangpur Biplob Kumar Sarkar spoke as special guests.

Additional Police Commissioner of Chattogram Metropolitan Police and President of BPWN Amena Begum presided over the event.

Additional Inspector General (AIG), Police Headquarters and Joint General Secretary of BPWN Shehela Parvin, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner of RpMP Shamima Pervin, among other senior women police officials, addressed the workshop.
