Anwarul Haque passes away

Anwarul Haque, a Language Movement veteran and journalist, died at his Pabna residence early yesterday, aged 78.

He had been suffering from various diseases for the last few months. He left behind his wife, a son and two daughters, family sources said.

Anwarul joined the Ittefaq as its district correspondent early 60s. He worked for the daily till his death.

He was one of the founder members of Pabna Press Club in 1961.

Anwarul’s body was kept at the press club around 12:30pm for paying tribute.

After a namaz-e-janaza at Pabna Chapa Bibi mosque, he was buried in Arifpur graveyard.
