356 places kept for slaughtering sacrificial animals in Dhaka during Eid

The two city corporations of Dhaka have designated 356 places for the slaughtering of sacrificial animals during Eid-ul-Azha, to be held on August 1.
Among the places, 256 are in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), while 100 are in Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC).
The DNCC Mayor Atiqul Islam today urged city dwellers to sacrifice their animals at the designated places for better management of garbage during the Eid.
The mayor made the call while holding a meeting on garbage management during Eid-ul-Azha with officials and employees of the city corporation.
Atiqul also directed the officials and employees who will remain involved with garbage management to do their duties properly.
"Our main target is to provide a clean and beautiful city by ensuring the garbage of the sacrificial animals is cleaned as quickly as possible," he said.
The mayor said they will strengthen the monitoring work to maintain the health guidelines strictly at cattle markets.
"We have already formed a monitoring team comprising of 10 councilors of the DNCC in this regard," the mayor said.
Meanwhile, around 10 tons of garbage are expected to be generated on Eid day and the city corporation has a plan, like previous years, to clean it within 24 hours.
