Government changes envoys in 4 countries
The government has decided to bring changes at the Ambassadorial level in four important countries through transfer and fresh appointment.
In addition, the government has nominated Bangladesh Ambassador in France M Shahidul Islam as the next secretary general of the Bay of Bengal Initiatives for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC), which is due to get final approval today at the ministerial meeting of the regional body.
Dhaka is the headquarters' of the seven South Asian and South East Asian countries body.
According to the foreign ministry sources, the government has decided to transfer Bangladesh High Commissioner in Australia Kazi Imtiaz Hossain as next ambassador to France.
On the other hand, Bangladesh Ambassador to Myanmar Sufiur Rahman has been transferred to Australia as the next high commissioner.
Rezina Ahmed, consul general of Bangladesh Consulate in Milan, Italy has been appointed as ambassador to Myanmar.
Shameem Ahsan, consul general of Bangladesh Consulate in New York, has been appointed as High Commission for Bangladesh in Mauritius.
