Ashulia garment factory fire under control

A fire that broke out at a ready-made garment factory in Savar, on the outskirts of the Dhaka, tonight, has been brought under control, police said.
Eleven fire fighting units of fire service department brought the flames of a nine-storey garment factory under control after over two hours of frantic efforts around 11:30pm, Abdul Awal, officer-in-charge (OC) of Ashulia Police Station, told The Daily Star.
The fire originated at the store room on the first floor of Medlar Apperals Ltd in Norshinghopur area of Ashulia around 9:15pm.
Some workers were trapped inside the building, our Savar correspondent reports quoting locals present at spot.
