GPH Ispat launches Turf Cricket Championship to promote employee wellness and sporting talent

GPH Ispat inaugurated the GPH Ispat Turf Cricket Championship Tournament in the Oxygen area of Chattogram, reaffirming its commitment to fostering sports, wellness, and team spirit among employees.
The tournament aims not only to boost employee motivation and physical fitness but also to provide a platform for budding cricketers to grow and potentially reach the national stage.
Speaking at the inauguration, Mr. Mohammed Almas Shimul, Additional Managing Director of GPH Ispat, highlighted the importance of recreation in the workplace. "When employees have access to sports and recreation, it boosts fitness and workplace motivation. GPH will keep supporting cricket championships to help players grow and reach the national level," he said.
The ceremony was attended by several senior company officials including Mr. T. Mohan Babu, Chief Operating Officer; Mr. Salehin Mushfiq Sadaf, Director (Strategy and Transformation); and GPH Future Leaders Mr. Saiham Sadik Pial and Ms. Sobha Soha. Their presence underscored the company's dedication to fostering an inclusive and engaging work culture.
The tournament features a total of 28 teams: 16 inter-departmental squads from the Chattogram region and 12 teams comprising officials and employees from the Dhaka office. Matches in Dhaka have already commenced in Pallabi, Mirpur, while Chattogram's semi-finals, final, and championship trophy ceremony are scheduled for April 17, 2025.
With this initiative, GPH Ispat continues to strengthen its commitment to employee well-being, teamwork, and sporting excellence.
