BUBT holds its 6th Convocation

The Bangladesh University of Business and Technology (BUBT) hosted its 6th Convocation Ceremony on Monday at the Bangladesh China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC), Agargaon in Dhaka.
The event, which began at 11:00am on the day, was attended by esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, graduates, and guests.
Mohammed Shahabuddin, the President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh and Chancellor of BUBT, delegated his authority to Prof. Dr. S. M. A. Faiz, Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC) of Bangladesh, who presided over the ceremony and conferred degrees upon the graduates.
The Convocation commenced with the National Anthem and a recitation from the Holy Books, followed by a welcome speech from Prof. Dr. A B M Shawkat Ali, Vice-Chancellor of BUBT. He emphasized the importance of lifelong learning and urged graduates to uphold values of knowledge, integrity, and service to society.
Md. Shamsul Huda FCA, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, BUBT, expressed pride in the university's continued progress in higher education. He reaffirmed BUBT's commitment to producing skilled professionals and ethical leaders. The Convocation Speaker, Dr. Syed Manzoorul Islam, Professor Emeritus of the Department of English at the University of Dhaka, delivered an inspiring speech. He encouraged graduates to embrace challenges, think critically, and contribute meaningfully to society through their knowledge and skills.
A key highlight of the convocation was the presentation of gold medals and crests to outstanding students. These awards honoured exceptional academic performers for their dedication and achievements. Israt Jahan, from the MBA 48th Intake, received the Chancellor's Gold Medal for her outstanding academic excellence. Labyba Ferdous, a student of M.Sc. in Economics, 38th Intake, was awarded the Chairman, Board of Trustees' Gold Medal in recognition of her remarkable performance. Additionally, Rabeya Afrin Meem, from the BBA 45th Intake, earned the Vice Chancellor's Gold Medal for her exceptional academic achievements. These awards serve as a testament to the students' perseverance and commitment to academic excellence, inspiring future graduates to strive for success.
Prof. Dr. S. M. A. Faiz, in his address, congratulated the graduates and emphasized education's role as a tool for positive change. He stressed the importance of ethical leadership, innovation, and social responsibility in building a better future. The convocation ceremony concluded with the National Anthem and the departure of the Hon'ble Convocation President and distinguished guests. To mark the joyous occasion, a celebratory lunch and cultural program were arranged, adding to the festive atmosphere.
BUBT's 6th Convocation was a resounding success, reinforcing the university's dedication to academic excellence and its role in shaping the next generation of leaders, scholars, and professionals.
