Nagad logs Tk 34,000 crore transactions in March

Nagad, the mobile financial service (MFS) provider of the Bangladesh Postal Department, has recorded its highest-ever monthly transaction volume, amounting to Tk 34,000 crore in March this year.
On the occasion of this remarkable achievement, Nagad's authorities extended their heartfelt congratulations to the expansive family of registered customers, which numbers in the several crores.
In just six years of operation, the MFS provider has firmly established itself as one of Bangladesh's leading mobile financial services. Both its customer base and transaction volumes have witnessed substantial growth over this period.
Continuing this upward trajectory, Nagad has surpassed its previous high of Tk 32,000 crore, recorded in June 2024, setting a new milestone in monthly transaction volume.
A large proportion of these transactions stemmed from cash-in, cash-out services, money transfers, bill payments, and mobile recharges.
Throughout March, the digital MFS provider ran a promotional campaign, styled "Utsober Khushi Nagade Beshi", offering users the chance to win prizes every hour via Nagad payments. The campaign was met with a highly positive response in the market, contributing significantly to the record-breaking transaction volume.
Md Motasem Billah, the administrator of Nagad, conveyed his congratulations to customers, employees, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders, acknowledging their respective contributions to this achievement.
"Success is never a matter of chance. It is the product of collective effort and hard work," he remarked in his congratulatory message.
"When all work towards a common goal, driven by shared values, striving for excellence becomes considerably more achievable."
As the digital financial arm of the Bangladesh Postal Department, Nagad continues to enhance its services, prioritising the security of customer funds. This commitment has inspired a growing number of users to join Nagad, engaging with its services with increasing confidence and assurance.
Notably, Nagad achieved its highest-ever single-day transaction on March 20, reaching Tk 1,500 crore. Earlier this year, the provider made headlines by crossing the Tk 2,000 crore mark in daily transactions on January 9.
The MFS provider is playing a crucial role in advancing Bangladesh's digital financial ecosystem. Since its inception as the digital service of the Bangladesh Postal Department, Nagad has swiftly built an extensive user base, driven by its continuous innovation and customer-centric approach. Even now, a significant number of new customers are joining the service daily via the Nagad app.
