Dubai International Chamber opens representative office in Dhaka

Dubai International Chamber, one of the three chambers operating under the aegis of Dubai Chambers, has inaugurated a new international representative office in Dhaka, aimed at further reinforcing trade and investment ties between the business communities of Dubai and Bangladesh.
Lutfey Siddiqi, special envoy on international affairs to the chief adviser, inaugurated the representative office as the chief guest in Dhaka recently, according to a press release.
Abdulla Ali Abdulla Alhmoudi, the ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Bangladesh, was present at the event alongside members of the Bangladeshi business community.
Commenting on the launch, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, president and CEO of Dubai Chambers, stated: "The establishment of our new office in Dhaka signifies a major stride towards deepening the economic partnership between our respective markets."
"It will play a pivotal role in forging connections between enterprises, facilitating trade relations, and attracting investment – all of which contribute to consolidating Dubai's stature as a premier global business hub."
"We are confident that this office will pave the way for mutually beneficial economic collaboration," he added.
The opening coincides with a period of burgeoning economic cooperation between Dubai and Bangladesh.
Non-oil trade between the two markets reached a value of $1.71 billion in 2024, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 9 percent compared to the $1.58 billion recorded in 2023.
The Dhaka office will serve the interests of enterprises operating in both Dubai and Bangladesh by enhancing engagement with the Bangladeshi business community and cultivating robust relationships with stakeholders across both public and private sectors.
It will further promote Dubai's competitive edge as a global business destination, disseminating essential investment insights to assist Bangladeshi firms in accessing the Dubai market and leveraging the emirate's strategic location as a gateway for international expansion.
Additionally, the new office will offer comprehensive support and advisory services to Dubai-based companies seeking to establish a presence in Bangladesh. This includes the provision of market intelligence, identification of business opportunities, and facilitation of connections with trusted local stakeholders and prospective partners who can support successful market entry and operational scalability in Bangladesh.
The inauguration of the Dhaka office raises the chamber's global network of international representative offices to 35.
This expansion forms part of the "Dubai Global" initiative, which aspires to establish 50 international representative offices by 2030. The initiative is designed to reinforce Dubai's position as a foremost global business hub by attracting foreign direct investment and enabling the international growth of domestic companies into 30 priority markets worldwide.
