Stocks rise in early trading

Stocks bounced back today after a three-day slide, as investors showed renewed interest despite global economic jitters.
The market had been on a downward trend since last Wednesday following the US announcement of fresh tariff hikes, which triggered retaliatory duties and shook investor confidence across economies, including Bangladesh.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, rose 31.99 points or 0.61 percent to 5,217.82 as of 10:48 am.
Investor participation was positive, with 231 scrips advancing, 65 declining, and 82 remaining unchanged.
Turnover stood at Tk 117.86 crore during the period.
Among major movers, Doreen Power Generations and Systems gained the most, surging 9 percent, while New Line Clothings dropped 8 percent—the sharpest fall.
The CSE All Share Price Index inched up 16.42 points or 0.11 percent to 14,549.84.
