Dhaka stocks fell for the second consecutive day today, but the turnover increased.

The DSEX, the key index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), lost 6.48 points, or 0.12 percent, to close at 5,247.30. 

Among the traded securities, 193 advanced, 133 declined, and 73 remained unchanged.  

Turnover increased 5 percent to Tk 487.85 crore compared to the previous session. 

The Shariah-based DSES index dropped 0.57 percent to 1,167 points, while the blue-chip DS30 index went down 1.07 percent to 1,905.54.  

Aramit Cement topped the gainers' list, rising 10 percent, while  Deshbandhu Polymer fell the most by 5 percent.
