Stocks extend rally for third day

The Dhaka Stock Exchange indices rose in early trading today for the third consecutive session.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, gained 13.91 points, or 0.28 percent, to stand at 4,978.58 as of 11:14 am.
The Shariah-based DSES index declined slightly by 0.05 percent to 1,098.30, while the DS30, comprising blue-chip stocks, increased by 0.02 percent to 1,844.43.
Turnover, a key indicator of market activity, stood at Tk 199.38 crore during the session.
Of the 395 issues traded, 192 advanced, 127 declined, and 60 remained unchanged.
Shares of Progressive Life Insurance Co increased the highest, rising more than 9 percent, while Mercantile Islami Insurance suffered the highest fall, dropping 3 percent.
