The stock market returned to positive territory today, ending a three-day losing streak when investors continued to assess the impact of tariffs imposed by US President Donald Trump's administration.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), rose 10.21 points, or 0.19 percent, to close at 5,196.04.

The Shariah-based DSES index also posted gains, advancing 0.22 percent to finish at 1,169.69. 

However, the DS30, which represents blue-chip stocks, slipped 0.15 percent before settling at 1,921.99.

Of the securities traded, 144 advanced, 193 declined, and 58 remained unchanged.

Turnover atll the DSE rose 9 percent from the previous session to Tk 527.18 crore, indicating an improvement in investor participation.

Shares of  Confidence Cement surged the most by 10 percent, with shares of Beach Hatchery dropping the most by 9 percent.
