Stocks decline for third consecutive day

Indices of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) dropped for the third consecutive session today.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, declined 17.69 points, or 0.35 percent, to close at 4,917.91.
DSES index, which tracks Shariah-compliant stocks, increased slightly by 0.02 percent to 1,094.17, while DS30, which represents blue-chip stocks, lost 0.07 percent to settle at 1,822.88.
Turnover, an important indicator of market activity, increased 12 percent to Tk 326.63 crore.
Of the 395 issues traded, 158 advanced, 175 went down, and 62 remained unchanged.
Magura Multiplex emerged as the day's top gainer, surging 9 percent, while shares of Dutch-Bangla Bank fell by 11 percent to become the day's biggest loser.
Meanwhile, the CSE All Share Price Index at the Chittagong Stock Exchange slipped 0.07 percent to close at 13,805.31.
