Robi Axiata Ltd posted a record profit of Tk 703 crore in 2024, up 119 percent year-on-year rise, driven by improved operational efficiency, the company said in a video conference today.  

However, the mobile operator's revenue declined by 0.1 percent year-on-year, while its subscriber base shrank by 3.3 percent. 

Its data revenue, however, registered a modest 2.2 percent increase.  

M Riyaaz Rasheed, acting CEO and chief financial officer at Robi Axiata, and Mohammed Shahedul Alam, chief corporate and regulatory officer, were present at the briefing.  

The latest earnings follow Robi's Tk 321 crore profit in 2023, which had marked a 75 percent increase from the previous year.

The company's earnings per share rose to Tk 0.61 in 2023 from Tk 0.35 in 2022.  

The mobile phone operator's revenue had grown 15.79 percent year-on-year to Tk 9,942 crore in 2023, with data revenue rising 28.2 percent and voice revenue up 9 percent.
