The decision came from the BSEC today

The Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) is going to appoint independent directors at Z category companies and those that are non-compliant.

Today, the regulator made the decision at a commission meeting, according to a press release.

The independent directors will be appointed—in accordance with the Corporate Governance Code-2018—at Z category companies and at those whose sponsors and directors do not jointly hold 30 percent of the company's shares.
