Dulux launches three products

Three new products of paint brand Dulux—Dulux Velvet Touch Diamond Glow, Dulux Weathershield PrimeCoat, and Dulux Promise Smart Choice Interior—were launched in Bangladesh yesterday.
ACI Formulations Limited, which obtained the rights to manufacture and sell the products, organised the launching event at Holiday Inn Dhaka City Centre.
Addressing the event, Shusmita Anis, managing director of ACI Formulations Limited, said the launch of the new products was a significant step forward in Bangladesh's paint industry.
"With advanced technology and top-tier formulations, we are delivering solutions that combine beauty, durability, and environmental responsibility," she claimed.
Md Quamrul Hassan, chief business officer of ACI Consumer Brands, said Dulux was more than just paint—it was a way to transform spaces with new products.
"Our latest products are designed to offer the best in performance and sustainability for both homeowners and professionals," he added.
He said, "A strong paint industry helps the economy, creates jobs, and supports construction."
Even in tough times, the industry can survive with new ideas and the right government support, he said.
Sisir Shovan De, head of distribution & export of AkzoNobel, which owns the Dulux brand, said they always stood for excellence in colour, durability, and sustainability.
"With the rapid urbanisation in Bangladesh, we are thrilled to introduce products that deliver world-class aesthetics and lasting protection," he said.
Syed Salahuddin Abu Naser, business director of paints section of ACI Formulations Ltd, provided insights into AkzoNobel's future plans in Bangladesh, highlighting the company's long-term vision and commitment to innovation.
Md Quamrul Hassan said the ACI invested over Tk 100 crore in their paint manufacturing facility and produces 29 varieties of products.
Operating in the paint industry since 2013, they are now focusing on increasing their market share, as the industry's sales were growing at an average rate of 6 to 8 percent.
However, the current situation is not favourable due to ongoing economic vulnerabilities, he said
He expects that they will cross a Tk 100 crore sales milestone by the end of 2025.
