Dhaka stocks rise in early trading

Stocks edged up in the first hour of trading today, powered by gains in shares of Robi Axiata PLC.
The second-largest telecom operator announced a record-high profit in 2024 yesterday evening, making investors upbeat as the markets opened this morning.
Robi, the most traded stock in the first hour, gained 1.70 percent to Tk 29.90 as of 11.08 am at the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, gained 15.76 points or 0.30 percent to 5,227.29 as of 11 am.
Some 236 issues advanced, 62 declined, and 77 remained unchanged.
Total turnover stood at Tk 191.76 crore.
Shares of Western Marine Shipyard surged the most, 9 percent, while shares of Paper Processing & Packaging dropped the most, 3 percent.
CSE All Share Price Index was up 0.14 percent, gaining 20.60 points to 14,596.80.
