Stocks opened higher in the morning trade today, recovering from the previous day's decline.

The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange, gained 20.68 points or 0.39 percent to 5,219.46 as of 11:30 am. 

Most of the traded scrips gained, showing positive sentiment among investors.

Some 224 issues advanced, 80 declined, and 77 remained unchanged.

Total turnover stood at Tk 163.52 crore. 

Shares of Shinepukur Ceramics surged the most, 9 percent, while shares of Meghna Cement Mills dropped the most, 7 percent.

CSE All Share Price Index was up 0.30 percent, gaining 44.30 points to 14,548.81.
