A Chinese investor has announced plans to set up a wig manufacturing factory in Ishwardi Export Processing Zone at a cost of $3.82 million.

Bangladesh Haijindi Hair Products Co Limited plans to produce 6.98 million pieces of hair wigs and hair-related products annually and create employment opportunities for 1,474 Bangladeshi nationals.

Md Imtiaz Hossain, member (engineering and investment promotion – additional charge) of Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza), and Gao Tuanxu, the company's chairman, signed an agreement in this regard at Bepza Complex in Dhaka today.

This will be the fourth factory at the zone producing wigs and hair-related items, according to a press release.

Maj Gen Abul Kalam Mohammad Ziaur Rahman, executive chairman of Bepza, attended the signing ceremony.
