Quasem Industries posts 61pc lower profit

Quasem Industries Ltd made Tk 3.56 crore profit in the financial year that ended on June 30, down more than 61 per cent from a year earlier.
The manufacturer of Sunlite-branded batteries clocked Tk 9.16 crore profit in 2020-21.
It reported earnings per share of Tk 0.49 in 2021-22, against Tk 1.26 in 2020-21.
The net asset value per share of the company was almost unchanged at Tk 27.64 in the last financial year compared to Tk 27.68 in 2020-21, while the net operating cash flow per share plunged to Tk 0.47 in the last financial year compared to Tk 1.52 a year prior.
The board of directors has recommended a 1.50 per cent for 2021-22. It has also taken a decision to build and operate a modern hospital in Dhaka city and establish a new head office and a distribution hub in its own commercial tower, according to a filing on the Dhaka Stock Exchange.
Shares of the company were unchanged at Tk 58.40 on the premier bourse of the country yesterday.
