Buet alumni assoc greets Dr Tapantosh on his feat

Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology Alumni Association yesterday felicitated Dr Tapantosh Chakrabarty for his achievement in completing marathons in all continents of the world.

Noted civil engineer Prof Jamilur Reza Choudhury said they were happy for Chakrabarty's achievement while giving a brief introduction on him.

The alumni association organised a reception at the university to felicitate distinguished alumni of the university.       

Tapantosh, aged 64, began running marathons at the age of 50. In the last 14 years, he participated in and completed 29 marathons in different parts of the world.

The last marathon he completed was held in Sydney last September, said Jamilur Reza Choudhury.   

"Running marathons erased all mental and physical hardships I went through in my life," said Prof Tapantosh Chakrabarty.

Secretary General of the association Dr Sadiqul Islam Bhuiyan and Vice-Chancellor of Buet Prof Khaleda Ekram, among others, were present at the reception.
