Bangladesh Gas Fields Company Limited (BGFCL) yesterday started supplying 15 million standard cubic feet of natural gas per day (MMSCFD) from the 19th well of Brahmanbaria Titas Gas Field to the national grid.

The drilling work of this well was done at Shuhilpur Location-3 of the Titas Gas field in Brahmanbaria municipality of the district.

The well of the gas field under the state-owned BGFCL will supply around 20 MMSCFD gas to the national grid soon, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent quoting Ahmed Hossain, the project director (PD) of BGFCL.
 
There are six gas fields --- Titas, Habiganj, Bakharabad, Norsingdi, Meghna and Kamta under BGFCL. Over 825 million standard cubic feet of natural gas are being produced per day from a total of 38 wells of these gas fields,

Besides, the gas fields of BGFCL are also producing 465 barrels of condensed oil to mitigate the partial demand of fuel in the country.

BGFCL is now supplying over 40 percent of total gas to the national grid daily, Lutfur Rahman, the public relation officer of BGFCL told our correspondent.
