Collision between bus, three wheeler in Bogura leaves 2-month-old, his grandparents dead

A head-on collision between a bus and a CNG-run auto-rickshaw left three people dead in Bogura's Shibganj upazila this morning.
The deceased are: Ashraf Ali, 50, resident of the Baropur village under Bogura Sadar upazila; his wife Parul Begum, 42; and their two-month-old grandchild Rezowan. Ashraf and Parul died on the spot and Rezowan died at Bogura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hospital while undergoing treatment.
The grandparents were taking the baby to hospital as he was suffering from breathing problems, family members said.
Belzar Hossain, station officer of Shibganj upazila fire service and civil defense, said that the accident occurred around 7:30 am when the bus driver lost control over the wheels and hit the auto-rickshaw head-on.
"The bus was heading to Panchagarh from Cumilla and the auto-rickshaw was going to Bogura from Mokamtala. The husband-wife died on the spot and we sent four other injured to the local TMSS hospital," Hossain said.
Md. Khairul Islam, officer-in-charge of Gobindaganj highway police station, said that they are going to hand over the bodies to them. The driver and the helper of the bus managed to flee. Police have seized the bus, the OC said.
