‘Bangabandhu’s leadership, insistence on social inclusion guide government’s goals and ambitions’

Finance minister says during ERD’s celebration of Father of the Nation’s birth centenary

Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had immense love for Bangladesh and he always wanted to build a Sonar Bangla, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said today.

Bangladesh has continued growing following the great leader's path towards development and is now in a position to become a middle-income country, he said.

It all started with Bangabandhu's visionary leadership and his insistence on social inclusion that continues to guide the government of Bangladesh today towards achieving its ambitions and goals, the minister said.

The minister made the remarks while speaking at a webinar on "LDC Graduation: A Leap Towards the Father of the Nation's Vision of 'Sonar Bangla'".

The Economic Relations Division (ERD) organised the event to celebrate the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

Prime Minister's Economic Affairs Adviser Mashiur Rahman, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bangladesh Mia Seppo and Asian Development Bank's Country Director for Bangladesh Resident Mission Manmohan Parkash attended the event as panel discussants.

Diplomats from different foreign missions in Bangladesh, development partners and ERD officials along with ERD Secretary Fatima Yasmin were also present.
