Gold prices to go down

The price of gold will go down as a reduction of duty on its import has been proposed in the budget for fiscal year 2019-20.
The proposal is aimed to prevent gold smuggling, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal said in the budget speech today.

Duty on gold has been proposed to be reduced from BDT 3000.00/11.664 gm to BDT 2000.00/11.664 gm.
