ASM Feroz made chief whip

ASM Feroz, the lawmaker from Patuakhali-2 constituency, has been made the chief whip of the 10th Jatiya Sangsad.
The parliament secretariat issued a gazette notification in this regard this noon.
Feroz served as a whip in the ninth parliament.
The five lawmakers who have been made whips in the 10th parliament are: Atiur Rahman Atik of Sherpur-1, Shahiduzzaman Sarkar of Naogaon-2, Iqbalur Rahim of Dinajpur-3, Md Shahabuddin of Moulvibazar-1 and Solaiman Haque Joardar of Chuadanga-1.
President Abdul Hamid has convened the first session of the 10th parliament on January 29.
Awami League won the two-thirds majority in the January 5 election, which was boycotted by the BNP-led 18-party alliance.
The new lawmakers were sworn in on January 9 and the 49-member cabinet was formed on January 12 with Sheikh Hasina as the prime minister.
