Deutsche Welle's science and technology show in Bangla, “Onneshon”, will premiere on Rtv today. The show will air every Thursday at 6:05 PM and Sunday at 1:40 AM. The show previously ran weekly on Ekushey TV. The announcement was made in a press conference on Monday.

Deutsche Welle, a German public international broadcaster, offers their services in 30 languages. “This is another milestone for DW in Bangladesh,” said Tobias Grote-Beverborg, DW's Distribution Executive for South Asia. “We have been broadcasting in Bangla for more than 40 years, and providing television programming with a local emphasis was the next logical step. Now we have a Bangla news service on the web, mobile app, website etc.”

Rtv CEO Sayed Ashik Rahman said, “Recently, Rtv has celebrated its journey of 12 long years. 'Onneshon' is a new and special program for Rtv and we are happy to create a partnership with Deutsche Welle.”

“Onneshon” is being produced by DW's Bangla team in Bonn, Germany and covers various aspects of science and technology – with a special focus on the latest developments in Germany and Europe. Multimedia content from the series will also be available online at www.dw.com/bengali as well as being distributed by DW's online partners.
