Marking the 121st birth anniversary of our National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam, national celebrations will take place on May 25. BTV and other TV channels will air performances, recorded prior to the coronavirus outbreak in the country, by the Dance Department of Nazrul Institute. The performances are directed by renowned Manipuri dancer and choreographer Warda Rihab.

The day will be celebrated not only in Bangladesh but also in other parts of the world such as India, Australia and Europe, on digital platforms by Nrityajog.

 In addition, Dhriti Nartanalaya, run by Warda Rihab, will pay homage to the National Poet through dances in another platform. The artiste her group have performed in a Gems of Nazrul production. The performance, shot earlier this year before the nationwide shutdown began, will be aired on Channel i on May 25.
